Cold Plates
Description
Use of tubed cold plates provides a lower cost component cooling where heat loads are low to moderate, but air cooling is insufficient. Press fit copper tubes provide superior heat transfer with an aluminum base plate. No epoxies or other interface materials that can act as thermal insulators are added. Manufactured in the US, tubed cold plates are compatible with all industry-accepted coolants. They can handle fluid pressure up to 200 psi. ATS tubed cold plates are provided with rugged, 3/8 inch push-to-connect tube fittings for tight connection with inlet and outlet tubing.
DIY, Do It Yourself cold plates provides the same thermal performance as ATS standard cold plates. Hole can be drilled into DIY plates to create a mounting pattern that matches the specific connection points of the device being cooled, such as an IGBT, MOSFET, or other power electronic device. Each DIY cold plate includes an etched “no drill zone” as a visual safety guide. Once a mounting pattern is approved, ATS can manufacture the custom cold plates for prototypes or production.
